WOW this was skillful. I followed posters suggestions and used 2C water and dissolved a boulion cube in information technology. I also added a trivial white wine, the garlic and a shallot to deglaze the pan b4 calculation the h2o/spice mixture. Even then, I had to add about a cup more than water while it was cooking. I also dredged the chik breasts in a lemon pepper seasoning in improver to the oregono. I omitted all the table salt from the recipe too, since boulion is so salty. Made the leftover broth into gravy, cooked upwardly the Uncle Bens Chicken rice, and dinner was AbFab!! I will def be making this once more!

This chicken is truly delicious. I have made this recipe four or v times already, it's definitely a keeper. It doesn't make much extra sauce so if you want some to scoop over potatoes or pasta you lot should double the sauce. The only affair I practice differently is I use boneless skinless craven tenders instead of craven breast halves. The chicken pieces are smaller which allows them to soak upwards more of the juices and seasonings making them very flavorful and tender. I take too added sliced mushrooms... yum.

My starting time crock pot experience, and it turned out great! I took a lot of advice from the posts here: I covered the bottom of the pot with potatoes, onions, mushrooms, and lots of garlic (well-nigh vi cloves). I used bone-in breasts (I did brownish them first, using butter, common salt and lemon-pepper mix, awesome), and so deglazed the pan with 1 loving cup white wine. Added all that to the pot, along with 2 cans of chicken stock, 6 tablespoons lemon juice, and a trivial more salt. I cooked on high for 2 hours, then low for 1 hour - perfect! I think the bone-in chicken made a big difference, it was wonderful and falling apart. I would exist conscientious with the lemon juice - I love strong flavors and was tempted to add more than, but my half dozen tablespoons was bordering on also bitter - fantabulous though! Also turned the extra juice into gravy for veggies and it was yummy, with side of chicken couscous!

What a dish! I doubled the spices except the garlic and used the juice of an entire lemon, and used craven stock instead of water/boullion, using enough stock to almost embrace chicken. And 30 min. earlier cook time finished, I stirred in 2 T. cornstarch dissolved in one/4 cup water. Plenty of sauce for serving with chicken over pasta. And here's a trick: information technology was REALLY lemony and too sour, so I stirred in almost two T sugar. Totally fixed that problem. Information technology was DIVINE!!! Thanks for an crawly, interesting recipe.
10/26/2006
An crawly lo-carb dish. You lot don't have to brown the chicken. Just mix the seasonings in a pot on the stove and boil slightly then poor over the chicken in the slow cooker. Utilize xanthum to thicken the left over juices into a very flavorful gravy!
02/01/2008
THis turned out surprisingly good!!! I used two boneless skinless breasts, (1lb) and I did everything by the recipe except used more garlic as we LOVE garlic...I used the already minced garlic...I also took everyone elses communication & used chicken broth instead of water...I made enough to comprehend chicken so it did not dry out out...I also cooked this for about 4 one/2 hours on depression.....I took juice out of crockpot, added cornstarch to thicken it up & made a yummy gravy! returned gravy & chicken to crockpot & left on warm..chicken vicious apart & soaked in so much season information technology was unreal! I served w/Uncle Ben's whole grain dark-brown rice due west/garlic flavors & steamed broccoli & cauliflower & it was sensational! My fiance is NOT a large chicken eater & he ate every bite of his & complimented the flavor! Will definitely make again...I def. concur that making sure the breasts are covered in liquid is central..also, my chicken chest were kind of thick & then I think this helped it not to dry out out! Sooo yummy!

After reading a few reviews, this is what I did - three pounds of chicken (family packs on sale here!) seasoned with salt, pepper and oregano. Browned in butter. one fourteen oz can craven broth, 4 tbsp lemon juice (from the canteen) and 3 cloves minced refrigerated garlic. 1 hour on high. three hours on depression. xxx minutes before serving, mixed 2 tbsp cornstarch with one/4 cup water and poured over the meridian. This was absolutely some of the best chicken I have e'er tasted. My whole family loved it. And the sauce was so good I could've just eaten a bowl of information technology like soup! Seriously good stuff.
12/08/2006
Very practiced, would be 5 stars with a few tweeks. The recipe was a footling salty for my sense of taste, I will reduce the salt next time. Also, I cooked for 6 hours on low but chicken turned out a little overcooked. Next time, I think 4-5 hours would be plenty. Will definatley make this once more, thanks.
05/25/2003
YUMMY! This was incredible! I used bottled lemon juice, since I didn't have any lemons on hand, and it was yet great. I besides used the boillon and it was fine. I did double the amount of sauce, and thicken it with a niggling cornstarch at the finish. Only, oh, my -- this is definitely going into regular rotation! :-)
01/06/2011
This came out first-class with modifications! The amount of seasonings in the recipe is non well-nigh enough. ( I DID LEAVE OUT THE Table salt!) I sprinkled onion pwder on the chicken as well before browning. I added more than oregano, garlic and pepper - didn't measure, just went past middle & to my liking. I added a i/2 sweet onion, fresh basil, juiced i whole lemon, added ane loving cup white wine & added most iii tablespoons fresh parsley. I also used a cup of chicken broth AND a 1/ii teaspoon of chicken boullion for extra season. Information technology came out PERFECT and was non salty AT ALL!! Neat, Great flavor!! Served it over a brown rice mix. =) YUM!
01/15/2003
This dish was very, very expert. I omitted the water and burgoo and used i/iv loving cup of chicken broth instead, and it worked wonderfully. The garlic and lemon truly infuse the chicken, which becomes incredibly tender in the dull cooker. My merely caveat would be that the chicken was somewhat banal--information technology'southward not a very piquant dish. (I'thousand love strong flavors, but this isn't a feature wearisome cooking ordinarily imparts.) Nonetheless, I'll definitely make this again.
12/19/2012
I e'er read the reviews before I ready 1 of the Daily Recipes. Based on the reviews, I browned the chicken then used half of a minor onion and browned it and the garlic. I used 2 cups of h2o, 2 generous teaspoons of the chicken bouillon and then followed the recipe the rest of the way information technology was written. This was practically inhaled by my family. I make this every 6 to eight weeks and get rave reviews every time. Thanks for sharing, Carla Joy.
04/01/2003
I used about a loving cup of homeade turkey broth instead of the granules, and added about 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice. It was very skilful, with my alterations.
03/02/2008
This was terrific! The chicken was so moist and just cruel autonomously. I cooked it on high for 3 hours. I did make 2 cups of chicken broth, the juice from one lemon, iv cloves of garlic and some white wine. I forgot to boil that mixture earlier putting it in the crock pot, merely I tin't tell what I was missing. The key is browning the craven before putting it into the pot. I would propose using olive oil instead of butter and putting the garlic in for the last 2 minutes to go the total flavor. I also shred the craven and let information technology soak up the juices for awhile before serving - yummy! Nosotros used the juice to pour over the craven. This was a not bad repast to come dwelling to with hardly whatever effort! It will exist in my monthly dishes from at present on.
10/25/2011
This chicken comes out so tender that you tin't even cut it without it falling autonomously! I seasoned the chicken with lemon pepper seasoning before the oregano mixture, and used garlic table salt instead of regular. Then instead of bouillon granules, I used near ane to ane 1/2 cups of craven stock. The flavor was incredible and I've never had chicken turn out so tender!
04/05/2011
I took a lot of the communication from other reviews. Namely, apply at least 2x the seasoning but cutting the table salt, use a couple tablespoons lemon pepper, add vino, and use a can of broth. Cooked it for 3 hrs on high and information technology came out moist. 1 addition if you like them is to add capers when you lot simmer the broth with cornstarch to brand a sauce. Added just enough pizzaz to this recipe to make it keeper.
06/07/2007
Did a few things others suggested. Did not brownish, just put all the makings (except the chicken) into a pot and brought information technology to a boil then poured it over the raw chicken in the slow cooker. Likewise replaced water with ane cup chicken goop and added 1/four cup white wine - doubled lemon juice, garlic, and chicken bouillon granules. Cut cooking time to iv hours on low. Had plenty of liquid, the chicken was very tasty and moist. Will definitely make once more!!
05/02/2007
This is the hardest review I've written. 3 stars for taste. I thought it was a little too mild (I dear flavor!). And six hours was definitely too long! In order to brand it five starts, you lot would basically need to double the sauce merely add more garlic/lemon and possibly some seasoning to the chicken. (And I used lemon pepper seasoning as well!). Nonetheless, the recipe deserves five stars solely becuase it is not a "cream of" recipe, it uses the wonderfully easy crock pot, and I feel healthy eating it. This recipe has fantastic potential.
09/xiii/2011
This was delicious. I doubled the sauce even though I merely cooked 2 chicken breasts and made linguini as a side. I used the sauce from the crock pot to mix in with my linguini. This will be a regular at my house for my husband and I.
06/23/2008
I put this recipe in my box 3 years ago...I finally cooked it over the weekend and it was phenomenal! Like other reviewers, I doubled (should have tripled) the liquid ingredients. My slow cooker is pretty stiff, so I cooked mine on Depression for 4 hours, rotating the chicken halfway through the cycle and so that the chicken on top would go in the juices. After 2 hours, the chicken was falling apart information technology was so tender! I removed the chicken from the juices, added a couple of tablespoons of cornstarch and made a fabulous gravy. Served it over egg noodles with steamed broccoli. Information technology was a oversupply pleaser! And the little leftovers there were, the craven was even so tender when re-heated!
05/01/2011
We gave this 5 stars, although I took a lot of suggestions forth the way! First, didn't bother browning the craven. 2nd, omitted the salt and bouillon/water and used a tin can of chicken broth and a glug or 2 of white wine. Third, used lemon pepper instead of regular and used a whole teaspoon. Put it all into the crock pot and cooked two hours on high and two and a one-half on low. It came out pretty well, although side by side time I might endeavour putting in some of the lemon zest to give information technology a little bit more lemon flavor. Thanks!
06/11/2008
Delicious!!!! I shedded the chicken afterwards and put it with rice and peas. I also made the sauce into a gravy, then mixed information technology all together. Like others accept posted, you demand more water and cubes. I fabricated two cups of broth and used one/4 C lemon juice. With my modifications it turned out fab, whole family LOVED it and I will definatly make again! Second fourth dimension around I put a bit of lemon pepper seasoning and fried the chiken thighs (not chest) and It was fabulous. I only cooked it in the slow cooker for a few hrs, served it with rice and peas agian for a complete repast. Yummy what a peachy recipie thanks.
11/xviii/2002
Delicious! I have been putting off making this for about a week now considering I was nervous that it wouldn't go over well. Soooo, I ended up adding i i/two cups of Swanson chicken goop vs. the bouillon & water (I do however think that it cooked much faster due to all of the liquid). I as well used three boneless skinless breasts & 2 bone in legs\thigh pieces (hubby likes craven on the bone). WOW - they all loved it! Don't forget to make a gravy with the left over drippings. This is wonderful, Thank you Carla!!!!!!!!!
10/xxx/2011
A real keeper. I tripled the liquids to cover the chicken, which made lots of wonderful gravy later. I also added the wine to the liquid and I added mushrooms, onions and reddish potatoes on the bottom.
04/06/2009
This is healthy, easy and fast, inexpensive and delicious... a v star rating for certain! I make this alot, the just change that I brand is that I just throw everything in the crock pot without browning or boiling and let the crock pot do it's piece of work. I usually shred it a bit and serve over whole-grain sparse pasta noodles or egg noodles and information technology's fantastic! This is comfort nutrient, not spicy or over the top...so if yous are looking for a "wow" your guests recipe, this is not the ane. It's just great family food. Perfect for a common cold day like today!
04/22/2011
When I dont have fourth dimension to throw it in the slow cooker, I ended upwardly but dicing the chicken and calculation the garlic, lemon juice and broth into a fry pan and cooked it that way. Information technology's done in 15 minutes or less and yous go the aforementioned flavor with fairly moist chicken.
05/eleven/2011
The flavor is astonishing! I didn't brownish the chicken ahead of time and I suggest not cooking the chicken frozen, it drys out every time.
02/23/2006
If yous love lemon and you beloved chicken, you will Dearest this recipe. I thought this seemed similar also much oregano to use, but it works only perfectly with the lemon flavor. Finally, a good lemon chicken recipe that isn't bland. Followed the recipe exactly and it came out awesome. Wouldn't change a thing! Cheers for a terrific recipe!
09/05/2012
very obviously and boring. my kids liked it merely i don't think it was anything special.
02/05/2015
I know that a lot of people don't really like it when people change a agglomeration of stuff in the recipe then review it. Well, sorry, cause that's exactly what I did and it was really good. I basically took the advice of others by adding vino (one/ii cup), doubling the sauce (used 1 tin chik broth), etc. I ever have a batch of my homemade seasoned flour on hand, so I used that and added extra Oregano. I added some sauteed onions and actress garlic in with the chicken. the terminal 30 minutes I added a tin of Artichoke hearts ( the kind in h2o, but drained) and some Capers. I adjusted the table salt in the recipe accordingly, by the mode. I thickened the sauce a bit with some cornstarch and I swirled in about a tbsp of butter correct before serving. I served it over Linguine and a bed of fresh spinach. The sauce and craven wilted the spinach a flake, merely it was still a bit crunchy. We sprinkled Feta and Parm chz on acme. Everyone liked this, even picky kids. Going into the rotaion for sure! Oh -information technology was done on high in about 2 hours, 45 minutes. turned information technology on warm till nosotros were ready- The craven was done prefectly!
09/29/2002
This was my outset slow cooker recipe and it couldn't have turned out better. The chicken was moist, tender, and total of season. Plus information technology was very easy. Definitely a keeper.
02/02/2003
Very simple meal to prepare and yet the flavour was wonderful. We're and so sick of the typical tedious cooker "add cream of _____ soup" recipes and this was a nice modify. I used chicken stock and fresh lemon juice, per other reviews. Volition keep this recipe on mitt and pass information technology forth to other working couples!
12/xvi/2008
This recipe is delicious. The chicken falls of the bone and is full of flavor. I added extra lemon and lots of extra garlic. I also have cooked it with about one/four c of white wine and the sauce was delicious.
03/23/2011
I fabricated this for the get-go time tonight, and my family unit has asked me to add it to our regular rotation. I did make a few changes: Beginning, I used bone-in breasts with the skin removed. I left out the water & bouillon and used a can of craven goop instead. The chicken turned out with all kinds of fall-autonomously goodness, with flavor deep into the meat. Afterward, I thickened the juice with cornstarch and we used information technology as gravy on both the craven and the rice I fabricated on the side. Definitely a keeper for us.
09/23/2011
Made this for dinner last night, and it was really VERY good. I omitted the oregano (we hate oregano), reamed a large lemon for 4 tbs of juice and pulp instead of juice just, used Better Than Bullion bullion paste, added 3 oz of chopped shallots and an extra clove of garlic when deglazing the pan, and used Smart Balance instead of butter to help cut down on the fatty. I too added i/2 c h2o to the tedious cooker and let information technology cook on loftier for about 5 hours. My house smelled astonishing all solar day, and dinner did non disappoint! I served it with steamed broccoli and lemon butter rice, which was specially skilful with the sauce from the chicken. We wished at that place was more. I think I will follow others' suggestion of white wine when deglazing to help bolster the amount. The chicken was slightly dry, and then side by side fourth dimension I volition cut the cook time down to four hours. And there *will* be a next time. I've already been asked by my husband to add together information technology to the dinner rotation! Thanks to Carla Joe for sharing this recipe and to all the reviewers who shared their suggestions. Great communal attempt with a wonderful outcome. :-)
05/25/2015
Wonderful. Too bad I tin't give this more stars!!! This is i of my family's favorite dishes. After making this many times exactly as written, I accept come upward with some changes that work well for my family (the original recipe is nevertheless wonderful as is). I apply broth instead of bouillon to reduce salt and avoid MSG that is in bouillon. I increase the h2o and lemon juice a bit. I always make way more of this than nosotros will eat because the leftovers make the world'due south best chicken salad.
06/02/2011
Delicious! I followed the recipe, didnt use craven boulion and used lemon juice in concentrate, I cooked information technology for six hours on low and it was basically falling apart. Very moist and flavorful, reminded me of those rotissary chickens you lot tin buy at the supermarket except this was even jucier I think!
01/10/2003
This was sooooo EASY. I permit the craven marinate in the juices overnight and this was absolutely the well-nigh tender and moist chicken I have ever had. And if you lot like greek (lemon and garlic) this is the recipe for YOU!:)
06/26/2008
What a GREAT and EASY dinner!! Just like others said, I added more than liquid to the sauce and and then made information technology into a gravy to go over the rice. My crockpot cooked this repast in ii hours on low! The chicken was absolutely delicious, very tender, and actually took on the flavors of lemon, garlic, and oregano. This will most definitely go 1 of the 'regulars' at our business firm!
12/19/2000
Made this last dark. It was a hit with my hubby and myself. Took the communication of adding some additional liquid in the crockpot and merely cooked it long equally directed. Very moist and tender..good taste. Didn't use the lemon juice. Used the remaining liquid for gravy. Volition definitely make this again.
08/09/2011
We were very disappointed. The chicken smelled so expert equally it cooked in the crockpot for the 6 hrs. on low. Then, with mouths watering, we suffered the realization that the chicken was completely tasteless. I even included 4 cloves of garlic, one shallot, and 2 c. craven broth. I don't know if I did something wrong only I will non attempt this recipe again. Thank you anyway.
09/08/2014
Very skillful! I used iii lbs. of chicken which was pretty much 3 big breasts. Every bit per other recommendations, I used 1/3 cup of lemon juice and ii cups of water. I cooked for 4 hrs. on low and the chicken was excellent - not dry at all merely the chicken did fall apart. I used the juices to make a sauce/gravy. I boiled it gently on the stove in a small sauce pan and added cornstarch to thicken the sauce. I bundled pieces of craven on pinnacle of a mountain of angel pilus pasta and served it with broccoli on the side.
03/28/2011
Absolutely wonderful! Recipe is four stars, as is but the way I did it would get it five. I made it with two chicken breasts. I added ane/iv loving cup white wine (equally others suggested) and used 3/iv cup chicken broth instead of the bullion cube. Otherwise, I kept everything the same. Turned out delicious!
11/05/2011
I accept used this recipe for a long fourth dimension and I love it. Delicious over affections hair mixed with olive oil and fresh ground salt and pepper. My kids who are 3 and v love this chicken likewise!
04/07/2013
I found this recipe and it seemed simple enough. Many (MANY )of the readers recommended I tweak the recipe, which I did. I added a 2 tsp of olive oil to the butter, bc as 1 reader said it wouldn't have been enough to brown. I also used a lemon pepper seasoned salt from Goya instead to season the craven earlier I browned it. I besides let the pan go a little brown(yummy brown, not eww, its burned brown) on the lesser and deglazed it with craven goop and added information technology to the crock pot. (I notice that gives information technology the best flavour!) I don't similar using bouillon cubes, then I added 2 cups of chicken broth, like many of the readers recommended. I added Italian seasonings (rosemary, thyme, oregano, parsley flakes) on top of the chicken. I honey garlic and onions, so I used half a small-scale onion (chopped) and used half-dozen garlic cloves (minced). Then I squeezed a whole lemon into the crock pot and added the squeezed lemon pieces in. I like doing this because it gives in a real lemon-y flavor. I too added 1/iv cup of balsamic vinegar which a few readers recommended as well. It took near thirty mins prep fourth dimension. I am cooking the chicken on high for half-dozen hours. I beloved things fully cooked, so I would rather have it fall apart than be underdone. I will probably add some potatoes and serve over rice. :)
08/20/2008
This is a fabled recipe. We had it the other nighttime for dinner. As other readers have suggested, I used 1 tin can of chicken broth and chicken thighs. At the end, I thickened the sauce with a piffling flour and served it over Dreamfields penne rigate since my married man is a diabetic. After I rubbed the seasoning mixture into the chicken, I let it set for about ane/2 hr in the refrig. We will have this recipe often!!!
11/05/2011
OMG.. This was soooooooo good! I followed the suggestions and doubled the sauce ingredients and also added ane/2 cup of white cooking vino to the sauce earlier cooking and I'm glad I did, it made a WONDERFUL gravy to go over the chicken. The gravy would of been great over mashed potatoes only I fabricated rice and it was all the same good. Other than that I followed recipe as written and everyone raved about the meal. Even the picky eaters went back for 3rds. Cheers!!!!!
02/08/2006
This is one of my favorite slow melt recipes! I ordinarily rub the craven breasts with Italian Seasonings and Chilli Pulverisation along with the salt and pepper. I love the fact that this is one of the few slow cook recipes that doesn't take a lot of sauce - although if y'all want, you lot tin make a great gravy with the liquid. Excellent recipe!
10/28/2009
i started this early in the morning, used frozen chicken breasts, made a marinade of about ii tablespoons lemon pepper, i/2 cup of craven goop, i/4 cup lemon juice and 1/2 cup of water, chopped four garlic cloves and put information technology on the crock pot well-nigh 11:00. by 6:00 that evening, the house smelled wonderful and the craven was falling apart! i know i didnt follow the recipe exactly, simply it was and then incredibly like shooting fish in a barrel and delicious. my fiance said "nosotros take to accept this again!" served with white rice and green beans, the sauce in the crockpot was delicious. definitely a keeper!
01/16/2010
This turned out then expert! Fabricated with a side of chicken and broccoli rice. I made sure the chicken was covered in liquid the entire fourth dimension (left it to marinade in crock pot without turning it on for nearly an 60 minutes). Cooked on high for 1 hour then turned downwardly to low for 3. Was super moist and tasted great!
01/eleven/2011
Very skillful. The chicken was very tender and moist. I'grand not giving it 5 stars merely because the bouillon made it very salty, should probably use chicken broth instead. Also the lemon is a scrap overpowering. I think 2 tbsp of lemon juice should be enough.
06/21/2010
Information technology turned into lemony chicken soup.
03/22/2015
Great quick and easy chicken dish. I love lemon and so I sqeezed two lemons in the pot, used depression sodium broth & like others omitted the table salt. I browned both sides in a pan, diced onions, then added seasonings & all else to the croc pot. Cooked for an hour & a half on high in my new pot. So I advise to sentinel information technology and so it doesn't go too dry every bit melt time volition vary depending on your pot and how much chicken you add together.
07/23/2001
Perfect recipe for the summertime, light and you don't have to oestrus up your house with the oven! I served it over rice and it was WONDERFUL! After cooking all day, the chicken is SO tender. I used bottled lemon juice instead of fresh and it still turned out very tasty.
02/18/2011
The chicken is fairly pedestrian but I loved the lemony sauce that comes with it. After pouring the remains of the cooker into a saucepan, I whisked in a piffling corn starch and finished it off with a couple of generous splashes of white vino. Served with roast potatoes and green salad. Next fourth dimension I'll run across what else I can practise with chicken.
09/02/2003
Crawly, easy and Succulent! A definite "keeper." My but suggestion is for people who accept a large slow cooker (mine is a 6-qt.) you may want to brand ii-3 times as much of the lemon juice mixture equally the corporeality suggested in the recipe, equally that much barely even wet the bottom of my cooker. As a result the chicken was a little drier than I expected. But the flavor was still wonderful! Went great over rice with brocolli on the side. BTW for those of you watching your fatty intake, yous can add the lemon juice mixture direct to the irksome cooker, without mixing in the pan drippings, and it tastes exactly the same. (Discovered this by accident when I forgot that step!)
10/21/2009
Nosotros beloved this recipe! I've been making it for several years, at present everyone in my family makes it too! Definately add more water, the sause is not bad when served over dark-brown rice. Also I found that coating the chicken -there isn't enough spice mixture, I sprinkle it into the pan, lay the craven downwardly and so sprinkle some other layer on the elevation, works much better and is faster!
12/07/2012
My family loved this recipe! I did double the liquids but that was but considering I wanted some extra for the rice. And I used garlic pepper on the chicken when browning but we love garlic! All in all, great recipe and very piece of cake to make :)
03/09/2011
Excellent! I wished I had cooked more...It was juicy and falling autonomously...I added lemon pepper seasoning to the chicken along with extra garlic to the sauce and thickened information technology with cornstarch...I volition definitely be making this again.
11/02/2010
I followed the other reviewer's communication and added mushrooms, onion and garlic to the bottom of the dull cooker. I seasoned the chicken as described, and so dredged the chicken in flour. I cooked the chicken as described, and deglazed the pan with white wine, lemon and garlic. One thing I did exercise differently: I took a generous amount of fresh rosemary and added it to the slow cooker, likewise as some basis sage. It's cooking right at present and smells wonderful. Thanks very much :D
02/27/2008
This was pretty tasty, and squeamish for busy weekday lunches to go. I wish I had white wine at hand because it would have given this the zing information technology needed. I doubled (if not tripled) the sauce, added a petty cornstarch. Also added frozen green beans and served atop spaghettini. Would be great topped with parmesan or mozzarella.
05/23/2002
I halved the recipe, but used the orginal amount of liquid. Next time I'll halve the lemon juice, too. I forgot the parsley, but it was neat anyway. I dear tiresome cooker recipes, then far this is my favorite. My husband raved well-nigh it, and he's a tough estimate.
03/23/2011
As is, this recipe is all right. My married man said it'd exist proficient to make over again merely with less salt. I'd also make the post-obit adjustments: Cut the common salt. Reduce the amount of lemon juice to 2 TBS, add more than chicken stock (ii cups) and and equally others suggested 1/two cup white wine. If yous want to thicken the juices into a sauce you'll need more liquids. I cooked this on low for 6 hours and it came out a petty dry. I'd cutting back the cooking time too.
11/02/2005
This was Amazing. I have heard that if you brown chicken earlier you lot put it the crock pot than the exterior layer wont let luice run in, so... I skipped out on the browning step. I added a chopped onion and some infant carrots. Its very important that you dont over melt the craven, but... if you exercise, only shred it up and serve it over rice. (Thats what happened to me the first fourth dimension I fabricated this...) I cook mine for 4.5-5 hours. Perfect.
02/04/2004
This chicken was fabled! It turned out a lot ameliorate than I thought, based on the other reviews. It had excellent flavor and the chicken was very moist. I used one-half the corporeality of craven but the total amount of all the other ingredients and substituted Italian seasoning for oregano because that'south all I had. I prefer the sauce in this type of dish to be very liquidy, and then I didn't add corn starch similar some people did. Nosotros ate it over brown rice and I recall the bright, tangy sauce really complimented the slight chewiness of brown rice. I'm new to cooking with crock pots and I'll make this recipe many times! Give thanks y'all very much, Carla!!
08/14/2008
Dainty flavors. I would definately add together the additional liquids as recommended in other reviews.
02/16/2011
i tried this recipe for the outset time concluding calendar week and i noticed alot of people were complaining about the blandness of the chicken, to fix that i cutting it up into cubes, i also used goop instead of bullion, and i seasoned to my own liking because this recipe has side by side to no spices (which could take a lot to do with the blandness) i think i might have quadrupled everything except the chicken and i just doubled the lemon juice. it turned out amazing, my hubby is the pickiest man i have ever met and he is actually asking me to make information technology again :D

The starting time time I made this recipe I followed the it as directed and it came out very dry and bland. Since then I take made it several times with these changes: I omit the h2o, lemon juice, and craven bouillon and use 1 loving cup craven goop with a few tablespoons of a lemon pepper marinade, add the garlic and parsley with a little onion and cook on depression for 4 hours so the chicken doesn't come out dry out, and serve it over rice.

I cooked this a little longer than it was suppose to exist, and it was the driest chicken I've ever tasted. I used only two chicken breasts and barely had enough seasoning to rub into them; there was so trivial liquid in the crockpot it actually burnt in places. However, my hubby thought information technology was OK, simply needs more liquid while cooking to make it more juicy. We'll come across.

Cheers for the wonderful recipe. I used it equally a base of operations. I used chicken legs, increased the water to one and one-half cups and used chicken base of operations corresponding to the corporeality of water. Lemon pepper for the pepper. The results were crawly. I would consider calculation capers and green olives next time. Served information technology with white and wild rice on the side. It'due south a keeper.

Just am OK recipe .... too much oregano. I won't be making this once more only because there are a ton of chicken recipes out in that location.

This was an piece of cake enough repast to put together. I took the communication of anothe reviewer and used a tin of chicken broth, 1/iii cup of lemon juice, and i/2 cup of white wine. They provided enough liquid to go along it from getting dry and added some dainty season. Didn't use the bouillon granules. I concur the sauce needs thickening if y'all'll serve over noodles or rice.

Didn't have time to brown the craven, just will definitely try this the side by side time as I think information technology volition only add to the flavor of the chicken and the gravy. Took the chicken out of the crock pot when washed and added a rue to thicken the sauce and wha-la it was great. Will definitely add together to my recipe rotation!

The craven had great season but I will double the sauce adjacent fourth dimension.

This was succulent! I followed a lot of the other reviewers suggestions. I find on this site I tend to use cooking recipes (non blistering) every bit a base of operations recipe. I doulbed all the liquids and added 1 loving cup of white semi sweet wine. Information technology was amazing! I likewise used bone in skin on chicken breasts to add flavour and took the skin off when it was done. I tried to fork 1 to check for doneness and it savage apart in the juices! It was astonishing and I will definitely arrive again! Thanks for the great post

this was good, turned out a piffling on the dry side (low temp for six hours was likewise much).

Relatively like shooting fish in a barrel and tasted great!

Large hitting with everyone! I utilize a footling garlic powder in add-on when i rub the chicken. I add some white vino when making the liquid mixture. Just before i serve... I remove the chicken and I thicken the sauce with a cornstarch slurry and put the chicken back in to get coated with the gravy.

I have been searching for slow cooker chicken recipes that don't require foam soups or other candy foods, and this ane seemed to fit the bill. It was decent, but nothing spectacular. I made a few changes which I call back made it much improve. I used olive oil instead of butter. I deglazed the pan with 1/2 cup white wine (pinot grigio) then added 1 loving cup chicken broth. Since I cooked just iv chicken breasts (about 1 lb.) this was enough liquid to cover them in the slow cooker. I kept the other ingredient amounts the same. I cooked it on high for three hours, removed the craven and added a corn starch slurry (ii Tbsp. corn starch in 2 Tbsp. h2o) to thicken up the sauce and served it all over angel hair pasta. It came out a petty bland and dry. I think I will make this again, but maybe season the chicken with "Chicken Seasoning Blend" from this site to perk it up.

Good. Added some risotto to the pot to melt with the chicken.

Yum! Lots of season in this dish. The only changes I made were 1) I used the juice of ii lemons (a footling more three T.) Later browning the craven (I used 5 fat breasts cut in half), I deglazed the skillet with bouillion dissolved in virtually a cup of hot water, nigh a half cup of chicken broth, lemon juice, garlic and I too added about a loving cup of white wine. These ingredients were boiled together and poured over the chicken in the crock pot. I cooked the chicken in the crock pot for nearly 7 hours on depression. I served this with penne pasta sprinkled with parmeson and green beans. My family loved it.

This craven is then skilful! I tweaked the recipe to add more seasoning, garlic and goop. I quadrupled the garlic, added well-nigh 1.5-2 cups of goop (enough to encompass the chicken in the crock pot) and I juiced a whole lemon. The chicken turned out very tender and flavorful. I serve information technology as a main entree with rice and steamed veggies. I too like to cutting it upwards and put information technology on my salads or fifty-fifty put it in a sandwich (between wheat bread with fresh spinach and whatsoever other fixins yous like)... YUM! Try information technology!!!! :)
11/06/2005
The craven was very dry ( I did not cook the full time, either) and the taste was nix that would lead me to make information technology again. My kids who consume everything, would not eat it.

This was fantastic. I made a few modifications based on what I had and other reviewers recommendations. I used boneless, skinless craven breasts (thats what I had on mitt) and used i loving cup of chicken goop in place of the bouillon and water. I besides upped the lemon juice to only shy half a cup (I wanted something actually lemoney, it was 2 juiced lemons) and doubled the spices rubbed into the chicken. I will be making this quite often!

I made this for dinner this evening and we thought the flavor was good, just found the chicken breasts to exist quite dry - even though we but cooked for half dozen hours in the slow cooker. I didn't bother browning anything, I just threw it all in the slow cooker and let it do the piece of work. I increased the garlic to four big cloves, roughly chopped, added a half cup of white wine and cooked on low. The end result was tasty...but dry.
02/08/2007
Very skillful recipe but be sure non to overcook as it can be dry!If you utilize bonless chicken but cook on low about 4-5 hours and bone in craven and 60 minutes or ii more max! I added a flake more lemon/garlic than the recipe called for and fresh pepper and chives and some oregeno and served it over white and wild rice. Yum. Volition brand once again.

This was a very easy and tasty slow cooker chicken recipe, merely what I have been looking for. I used a whole cut-upwardly chicken, with the skin removed, and the meat just fell off the bone. I dearest garlic, so I added 2 teaspoons of minced, and I used fresh lemon juice, but other than that, I didn't modify a thing. I did find that afterwards browning the meat, it didn't take 6 hours to cook on low, information technology was more like 4 1/ii, simply with all the liquid, the meat didn't dry out. I also used my fat skimming measuring loving cup to get rid of the small-scale amount of chicken fat, so used cornstarch to thicken the gravy, making it a relatively low fatty dish. Would be very practiced over egg noodles. Cheers for the recipe!

I tripled this for a company pot luck. I omitted the parsley and substituted broth for the bouillon/h2o. This could take used more lemon and more than garlic. It would have been much easer/faster to just finish cooking the chicken in the browning pan than transferring it to the slow cooker. I probably won't make this again. It wasn't bad, but non worth the effort.

I was non impressed with this one. My married man said he liked it though. The kids didn't eat it so that ways I'll probably not make it over again.

Tried this slap-up recipe yesterday and information technology was peachy. I made a few changes to the original recipe after reading most of the reviews. 1. I used adobo seasoning (Goya, garlic powder, oregano forth with some freshly squezzed orange juice and let it sit down in the fridge for ii+ hours before cooking. No need to dark-brown the chicken prior to cooking. 2. I used homemade broth from a previous recipe that I saved to use it later ( definetly a fourth dimension saver, and taste saver too!) iii. After cooking the garlic, lemon juice and the broth I strained the garlic from the skillet. That fashion the liquid had just the flavor of the garlic instead of overpowdering it. 4. In one case in the slow cooker, I added baby carrots and peas. they were cooked in the amazing broth and came in super tender, as well the chicken was in the broth and came out with amazing flavor, juicy and very very tender. My family loved this recipe with the modifications I did. Hope this helps others and similar I always say practice not be agape to change a recipe, most times it is just a guide. Enjoy!!

This was very, very good. A squeamish modify from the creamy chicken recipes. A few tips for commencement timers like me: -Don't use too much rub on the craven. I figured well-nigh of it would come off while cooking, and then I used a lot, but it all stayed on! -Similar a lot of the comments on hither, I added some other ane/2 cup water and 1/2 tsp craven granules and two tblsps lemon juice to make more juice. -Side by side fourth dimension, I will cutting downwards on the garlic just a little. I forgot to practise the parsley and after all of these changes, it was a great meal with white rice--just perfect!

Per my husband "nice flavor", just I overcooked my craven so it was a bit dry. But I doubled the sauces and and so thickened with cornstarch, so we had extra gravy. Served with brown rice and light-green beans. Volition make again, thanks for the recipe!

Pretty proficient! My family enjoyed this meal, and it was certainly easy to prepare. I did substitute chicken stock for the bouillion and water, and added a splash of white vino. I ended upward thickening the sauce at the end and served forth with steamed brocolli (great with the sauce!) and herb rice. Delicious. I do call up that there was simply a bit besides much lemon for my sense of taste and will probable cut it back next time around. Also volition not need to cook quite then long for skinless boneless breasts. We will be making this one over again!

This recipe was so proficient, I cannot await to swallow it once again next week! Nosotros followed others suggestions and doubled the sauce. With rice and a veggie, this craven makes an absolutely first-class meal for our whole family!
02/05/2014
i beloved this recipe! information technology only took me 12 hours to cook + i got laid
05/01/2008
Like other reviewers, I had to add more than liquid. I used chicken broth instead of water and burgoo. I also added cooking white wine for a little zing and some whole garlic cloves to the crock pot. Pretty good for something fast and like shooting fish in a barrel! Served over rice with a side of veggies.
02/01/2011
Easy preparation and fabled event! Craven came out tender with a nice lemon sauce. This one'due south a keeper.
09/19/2007
Sad, simply I did not care for this ! Perchance I used to much oregano, just that was all I tasted. This recipe has fabricated me kind of scared to endeavour annihilation else with oregano in information technology. I used ground oregano, maybe I did something incorrect :(
08/12/2002
This was very good. I used bootleg chicken broth instead of bouillon. Loved the lemon and garlic.
